The Art Of Recovery Story
The Art of Recovery Exhibit started September 2014. It was the brainchild of two addicts, one with a year clean time and the other with 2 years. One, a photographer who had not used his tools in months, the other a seasoned artist. They sought a way to combine their talents and gifts as a means of using art to supplement their ongoing recovery process. Held at the Within Bookstore and Cafe located in Lake Worth Florida, this project allowed people to explore aspects of their life through artistic mediums they may not have been able to convey in a conversational format.
Today the Art of Recovery encompasses an art show and film festival the is sobriety and recovery centered. It continues to resonate with a large section of our population and inspire hope in the lives of many struggling with addiction issues.
